SASMA was established in 2004 by a group of Non-Government Organisations involved in providing self management support programs to people living with long term health conditions. The initial aim of the Alliance was to increase access to and availability of quality chronic condition self management programs to people with long term health conditions, carers and health professionals throughout South Australia.
SASMA has evolved over time and continues to have significant relevance as a community of practice around self management and empowerment. SASMA has demonstrated its commitment to making a difference, delivering three highly successful symposiums ‘Living Well In A Complex Life‘ in 2014, ‘Living My Life My Way‘ in 2015 and Great Life, Better Choices in 2016.
Great Life, Better Choices 2016 was delivered in conjunction with the annual Disability, Ageing and Lifestyle Expo held at the Adelaide Showgrounds and supported by the Catalyst Foundation.
